Felt First Aid Kindness Bags

Girl Scouts love to make a difference. Finding service projects that can be done in a single meeting but make a big impact are important. This little band aid project is a fabulous way to empower girls to spread their kindness to kids in the hospital. The band aid made from basic felt can be a stand-alone item that goes with a little kindness letter and it can also be sewn onto a little bag to create a pocket for goodies.

Skill Level: Basic
Time: 1 Hour

You will need the following supplies and materials.

  • 9” x 12” craft cuts Kunin® Classicfelt: 1 White, 1 Cashmere Tan, Assorted colors.
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Machine, thread (or felt glue)
  • Ribbon
  • Kunin Bandaid Pattern

Cut out the pieces for the band aids using the pattern. Cut the band aids from the tan and the gauze from the white. The decorative little pieces can be any color. If you are making little bags for goodies, use any color of your choice.

Lay your band aids out the way to want them to look once they are sewn together.

Use a sewing machine (zig zag stitch) to assemble the band aids. If you are sewing them to bags, sew the band aid together first then sew it to the front piece of the bag BEFORE sewing the two bag pieces together. This is the same if you choose to add any ribbon. Sew it on first to the front too.

If you are just making band aids, they count as a great S.W.A.P.S. project. They would be great to hand out at a larger Girl Scout event.

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® ClassicfeltKunin® Premiumfelt and Corduroy non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.

Cheers to Celebrating Kindness and Making a Difference,
